Who we are

Cape Ledger (https://capeledger.tenpennyhq.com) is software operated by Enes Bulanık, trading as Tenpenny ("we", "us"). It keeps salons' tip records: it collects employees' monthly tip statements, reconciles card and cash tips from point-of-sale exports, and estimates the FICA tip credit and the No Tax on Tips deduction for the customer's tax professional.

We are a private company. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with any regulator named in the product. Official sources are linked wherever we cite a rule.

Orders and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing; access continues until the end of the period you paid for.

Free trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial without a card. When it ends, the account becomes read-only until you subscribe. We never charge you without you starting a checkout.

Your responsibilities

Deadlines, rules and calculations in Cape Ledger are provided to help you stay organized. They are not legal, tax or professional advice. You remain responsible for your filings, licenses and business decisions, and should confirm important dates with the official source.

Don't use the service for anything unlawful, to send spam, or to upload data you have no right to share.

Your data

You own the data you put into Cape Ledger. You can export it or delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the service available but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we'll email account owners at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

What Cape Ledger is not

Cape Ledger is recordkeeping software. It is not a tax advisor, accountant, payroll provider or law firm, and it does not file anything with the IRS or any state agency.

Credit and deduction figures are estimates computed from the records you and your staff enter. Tax rules can change and depend on facts we don't see. Confirm every number with your tax professional before you use it.

You remain responsible for running payroll, withholding and paying taxes on tips, and filing your returns.

Staff statement links

Each staff member's statement link is personal. Share it only with that person. You can replace a link at any time, which stops the old one from working.
