Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account data: your name, email address and sign-in records.

Business data you enter: staff names, work emails, chair labels and hourly wages you enter (never Social Security numbers); tip amounts from the point-of-sale files you upload and from monthly statements your staff sign; each signature's typed name, time, browser type and a one-way hash of the signer's IP address; payroll tips, hours and wages you enter.

Billing: handled by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card number; we receive your subscription status and a Paddle customer ID.

Basic usage logs (pages visited, errors) to keep the product working.

How we use it

Only to run Cape Ledger: showing your dashboard, sending the reminders you configure, sign-in links and billing notices. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who processes it

Infrastructure providers that host and deliver the service: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email) and Paddle (payments). Each processes data only on our instructions.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is open. Delete your account from Settings and we erase your business data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax purposes.

Your rights

You can request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@tenpennyhq.com.

No Social Security numbers

Cape Ledger never asks for Social Security numbers, and refuses text that looks like one in the fields where staff details are stored.

Staff who sign statements

When a staff member signs a monthly tip statement we store the amounts, the typed name, the time, the browser type and a one-way hash of the IP address, so the salon can show when and how the statement was signed. The salon (our customer) controls this data; staff can ask the salon for a copy or a correction.

Free calculator

The calculator on our home page stores a one-way hash of your IP address, the number of stylists and the weekly tip amount, only to limit abuse (60 estimates an hour).
